The Watchtower Episode 249: The Alpha and The Omega

This week on The Watchtower there’s more news than a news stand full of news papers or news magazines or news… places.

Big things are coming from Marvel! Just as Avengers Vs X-Men heats up, we hear rumors of War! Plus more creator shakeup rumors.

Also, Spider-Man is getting a sidekick! Unfortunately it’s not Donnie, but it sounds interesting!

Plus, the Forecast, News of The World and we take your Phone Calls!

Oh man, the quality of calls recorded by the machine is really uneven, but I guess it’s ok, as long as they get recorded at all. Whenever I record something, I feel pressed for time, so often I won’t mention a lot of the stuff. I was thinking of Top Shelf as well. I’m still waiting for them to publish the second volume of AX, an anthology of alternative manga.

To elaborate on my question, more than anything, I was curious if you have time to read anything else than DC and Marvel comics, with the amount of stuff they publish in mind. To follow all those series is almost a full time job.

Since I live in Sweden, I stick to trades, because single issues would simply cost too much. Ironically, imported books published by Drawn & Quarterly cost me less than locally published counterparts, whenever those exist. Yes, being a comic book fan with big appetite in Sweden isn’t easy on the wallet.

    Hey guys,

Another great show this week. I have been steadily listening for the past 2 months, I am left wondering where Donnie earned the moniker “Questy”. Is their an old episode I could listen to or to find the answer I seek? Or is it one of those you had to be there moments?

Also, I’m glad to have Donnie back on the show. While I thought Ari was fun to listen to, I thinke she is more suited for the while you’re at work segment rather than the informative show about comics. But by all means please keep her on as the “Chicks Kissing Correspondent”

Thanks again for keeping me entertained week after week.

I think if you go back through the archives to episode #100, the horrible truth will be revealed!!
