Hero Initiative Buttons Now Available
« Previous | September 4th, 2008 | Next »The Hero Initiative is a cause that is near and dear to our hearts, as it should be for any fan and reader of comics. So, when they bring their newest stuff to our attention, it’s only right that we do the same for you all out there.
Hero Initiative buttons, 1.25” pins, are now available and will be at The Hero Initiative booths at upcoming conventions starting with Baltimore Comic-Con (Sep. 27-28), Mid-Ohio Con (Oct. 4-5), and Wizard World Texas (Nov. 7-9). The buttons are a mere $1 each, and the first two styles out of the gate feature Top Cow’s The Darkness with art by Dale Keown, and the “Hero Hand” with art by GØDLAND’s Tom Scioli.
“The Hero Initiative is doing incredibly important work for our industry and the creators that fuel it,” said Top Cow Publisher Filip Sablik. “This program is an easy and fun way for fans to support this worthy charity and get some cool swag at the same time to show off their support. Top Cow is incredibly proud to play a part in it.”
The Hero pins will be an ongoing program. Future designs will include art by Jason Bone, Darwyn Cooke, Joseph Michael Linsner, and more.
The Hero Initiative is the first-ever federally chartered not-for-profit corporation dedicated strictly to helping comic book creators in need. Hero creates a financial safety net for yesterdays’ creators who may need emergency medical aid, financial support for essentials of life, and an avenue back into paying work. It’s a chance for all of us to give back something to the people who have given us so much enjoyment.
