Episode 069: An Initiative of Our Own
« Previous | August 13th, 2008 | Next »This week on The Watchtower, we kick things off with talk of this year’s Fan expo, as well as how dumb Iron Man is.
Also, this is probably the first time “initiative” and “The Watchtower” have been in the same sentence. We talk with Jim McLauchlin, President of The Hero Initiative, the only not-for-profit organization aimed at comic book writers, artists, and creators.
All this, plus thinly veiled references to Donnie’s dating life in The Forecast.
It’s The Watchtower, sealed, and in mint condition!

Oh C’mon!…You liked Hulk #4? I’m not going to lie, I did kind of chuckle when he punched The Watcher in the face. But this red Hulk can’t just go around kicking everyones ass all willy nilly. Thor..is…a…God. If it was an even match I would be less inclined to whine like a 12 year old school girl who’s in need of her Justin Timberlake fix but he Whooped Thor. And then grabbed his hammer due to technicality which i thought was lame. And then he…JUMPED to the moon. He Jumped…to..the moon. If that doesn’t prove the lameness i don’t know what does.
Sorry for ranting. Had to get that off my chest. I also think that that glowing statue thing scaring the bajesus out of everyone in Ultimate Origins is the Ultimate Watcher…up for discussion. It might even be too obvious for me to have just said it out loud which would then make me look like a fool…but whatever.
Keep on casting love your stuff

Oh and these two lists are hilarious if anyone cares to take a look. This one is about 6 worst super hero husbands. On the list are Spiderman, Hawkeye, Hank Pym, Reed Richards, Hulk and Cyclops

And then the next is 6 creepiest comic characters..which I’m actually still laughing about.

Ha ha ha!
Those are both great lists!!
Now that I have read Hulk #5, I have to disagree with you. It think it was a great issue, and the fact he defeated Thor on “a technicality” as you put it, made it that much cooler. As far as I know, no one has ever gotten the best of Thor like that, so it was pretty awesome to see.
This book has been pretty disappointing to this point, but I think it really picked up with this issue.
We can lose “A-Bomb” anytime now though…

I agree A bomb must go. it’s not a great book but it is fun to read. ( mindless fun that is)

Thats true. Anyone realize how now that Iron Man is Director of S.H.I.E.L.D, he’s basically like wolverine and is in every book at the same time. Hah I just find that funny.
