This week’s Watchtower extra differs a bit from past weeks. Instead of an audio update, I want to use this space to make a special announcement, one that we are very, very excited about!!
Every year during the first weekend in May, the comics industry gathers and offers up an event called Free Comic Book Day. This is a day when, literally, you can walk into any participating comic shop and they will hand you free books. All the top publishers are on board, so there is a lot to choose from! This is one of the biggest events of the year in terms of getting new readers into comic shops, and into comics themselves.
This year’s Free Comic Book day is May 3rd, and our special announcement is detailed in the press release below:

NEW—-Added: Jeff Moss and Donnie Coulter, those crazy opinionated, and highly collectible hosts of popular Toronto-based Comic Book Podcast ‘The Watchtower’ will be available for autographs and arguments, along with Dan Simon of No Reason Comics doing sketches and making jello, on May 3rd at the 2008 IMAGE COLLECTIONS Free Comic Book Day Event.
Influential, relevant, but mostly consistent (over 50 shows available all over the ‘net) these up-and-coming industry personalities are being listened to by more and more insiders. After all, did you HEAR what they said about ‘Secret Invasion #1′?

I’m actually going to try to get to this. I haven’t been to the city in a few weeks, so it would be nice…plus we don’t have a theatre here and I want to see Iron Man!
