Episode 046: The Spider-Sized Edition
« Previous | March 5th, 2008 | Next »What can I say about this week’s edition of The Watchtower? Well, this:
1.) This episode features our much talked-about Spider-Man Trivia Challenge; Donnie vs. Mikey Sullz of Morbiopunk fame. Also, Saint Alvia Cartel and Video Dead frontman Ben Rispin joins us as a co-quizmaster.
2.) We go in-depth on the brand new Mark Millar/John Romita Jr. masterpiece, “Kick-Ass.”
3.) A surprising revalation from one of our hosts regarding the recently released “All-Star Batman & Robin The Boy Wonder #9.”
4.) We take the occasional potshot at misogynist comic-book reviewers.
5.) We take care of the best of last week as well as a look ahead to this week during “The Forecast.”
6.) AND, in order to fit it all in, this is a special 1-hour Super-Extra-Sized edition of The Watchtower.
What can I say, if you hate us, you are in for a bad night…

Don’t forget about the Phil Urich Green Goblin (around the time of Onslaught…I have a few of the issues…ugh).
And, since Donnie’s an asshole (and a close friend, but asshole first and foremost):
It’s “Mac Gargan” not “Matt.”
Furthermore, the symbiote didn’t give Eddie Brock cancer, it fed off the already existing disease (a lame retcon, but canon nonetheless). From http://en.marveldatabase.com:
“Brock was a reporter who was fired after Spiderman debunked his award story, “the Sin-Eater case,” humiliating him and ruining his career, forcing him to find work with cheap gossip magazines. Before then Brock found out he had cancer and his writing one of the only things that kept it of his mind. Attracted by his adrenaline poducing cancer the symbiote bonded with Eddie and kept him alive. Eddie feared that Spiderman would accept the symbiote back, condeming him to death.”
That said, Donnie rocked the shit out of the other punk.

So I just have to say, what do you have against Blue Beetle Donnie?
Great show guys, I really think the trivia thing should be done again. I myself have been in a few Batman trivia challenges, and I think that would be a kick ass episode. I also think it is interesting you guys love Batman and Robin All-Stars. I hate that series…yet the DC fan in me keeps buying it.

Jesus Christ I’m glad Donnie won. How bad would it have looked if one of the supposedly knowledgable cohosts was owned by some punk who walked in off the street?
Good for you Donnie. You get a lolly.
